So having caught the demo details for 8-Bit Adventures 2. We are keen to see about a Linux release. Also, the lengthy answer is quite surprising:
“8-Bit Adventures 2 is being developed in the RPG Maker MV engine. Because of this, a Linux port is definitely possible. And I’d very much like to do it. My plan is to finish the Windows version first. Then exporting it to Mac and Linux, and begin testing on those platforms. My only issue is that I don’t have access to a Linux computer”
While this explains some concerns developers do face. We are forwarding
Critical Games to the Linux Gaming group on Reddit for testers. Since this could be the first 8-Bit Adventures game to hit Linux. And quite honestly, we have hopes for the follow up.
The world of 8-Bit Adventures is unique. Since it is literally set inside of a video game. And this approach creates many novel opportunities. Everyone knows what a video game glitch is? Something that shouldn’t exist. But also has the power to distort a game world in bizarre and seemingly impossible ways. The antagonist of 8-Bit Adventures 2 is based upon this concept. taking the form of an unwanted and mistreated child known as the Glitch.

We still have a little way to go, but I sincerely hope that 8-Bit Adventures 2 connects with players the same way that games like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IX have always connected with me.”
