Valve needs your Linux developer experienced
Valve’s Michael Abrash has shared some additional insight this Friday morning.
The latest Valve blog post from Michael Abrash isn’t about wearable computing or their forthcoming Linux clients but about “[doing] what you love.” That’s his response to a question he’s often asked: “What should I study in college/learn to do/work at to get hired at Valve/have a good career/have a good life?”
The blog post can be found at blogs.valvesoftware.com where Abrash goes into detail about becoming involved with computer programming at university, etc.
As far as why this blog post is being mentioned on Phoronix: Valve is still in need of more high-quality Linux talent. Just this week from one of the Valve Linux developers I hear again, “Got a ton of work to do…Need more good people. :)”
Their amazing Linux plans can’t all come together through good wishes and magical powers, they need more Linux developers to make their ambitious Linux gaming plans on the client side a reality.
