ancestors legacy could see a native linux ubuntu port in windows games

Ancestors Legacy is a historically accurate real-time strategy game. Since the games influence follows historical events of the Middle Ages. While combining resource management and base building. Along with large-scale, squad-based battles across vast battlefields. All rendered in stunning detail thanks to Unreal Engine 4. So players can experience medieval bloodshed like never before thanks to the cinematic action camera. Which puts you right in the middle of the battle at the press of a button.

Sound impressive? Well Ancestors Legacy is coming to Windows via Steam. Yet we reached out to developer Destructive Creations, there could be a Linux and Ubuntu port.

Hi Todd,

I don’t think that native Linux version of Ancestors Legacy will happen soon after windows and xbox one release.
It’s still a lot of work ahead of us to finish current versions.

Since this is not a formal “no” to native support. Obviously Destructive Creations have their hands full with the games development. So a Linux and Ubuntu port will likely follow after Windows. Then some bug fixes, updates and such. So cast your vote and Tux some love via the Steam Discussions.

So in the mean time, watch the latest Ancestors Legacy “Rebuilding Forces” gameplay video. It will show you exactly how important tactics, combat features unique to your troop. Along with the ability to move stealthily, or having a hero on your side. Since the developers have provided a commentary to help better understand the features of gameplay.

Watching this single-player mission, you’ll experience the stealthy side of Ancestors Legacy  And learn basic combat rules. Checking out the complex mechanics and don’t underestimate the importance of sneaking around. Caring for your squad, to become invincible. So choose your opponents wisely, and remember – some units will be ineffective against others. Use diversions and lure your enemies to take them out with style.

Ancestors Legacy, with its 4 different nations, offers many different ways of achieving tactical dominance and overall superiority on the battlefield. The Vikings from the Norse Kingdoms are more mobile than other units with their light infantry and cavalry.

Vikings play the role of aggressors in the game. So they don’t have permanent buildings that may be a “base”. Their tactics revolve around an ambush–attack–retreat formula. And it works frightfully well for them. They do have some simple settlements, though. So it’s worth noting that these are military camps from the 10th–11th century. The tribe as such is uses Vikings from the area of modern-day Norway. As well as Sweden and Denmark in the period between the 9th and 11th centuries.
