Ancient Frontier: Steel Shadows will see support

ancient frontier steel shadows will see linux support

Ancient Frontier: Steel Shadows is turn based-strategy coming to Windows next week, but will have Linux support. The latest offering by Fair Weather Studios, coming to Steam on December 11th with two free DLC’s. Where players can take on the tight-fisted Human Federation as the Commander of a Pirate Fleet.

Linux Support:

“Unity is the game engine, Linux support is likely after launch.”

So after reaching out to developer Fair Weather Studios, we now have confirmation. Which also indicates that Linux support is going to happen after launch. Since the studio is keeping focus on fixing bugs before issuing the port. But do note, I am able to get the game running via Steam Play using Proton.

Ancient Frontier: Steel Shadows has a rich history as a stellar turn based-strategy experience. While allowing fans to jump into the role of rogues and pirates in this new game. The universe of the original Ancient Frontier launched last year on Steam. But sadly no Linux support, but again, the game also works via Steam Play (thanks to Unity 3D).

So now we have Steel Shadows, which takes place in the vast, war-ridden universe of Ancient Frontier. Where players command a rag-tag fleet of pirates, outlaws, and scavengers to expand their network. Obtaining riches and surviving the pursuit of the Human Federation. Players do not need to own or have played Ancient Frontier to enjoy the new offering from Fair Weather Studios.

Play as Rogan Harker, a recently freed convict, who travels to the Frontier to find old friends and start a new life. But the overpowering Federation still controls most of the Frontier. While the new and budding Alliance is no fan for outlaws. Hated and feared, the pirate life is one of constant danger. So friends and allies are hard to find and harder still to keep. Beset on all sides, can Rogan find fame and fortune with his fledgling pirate fleet?
