Ark: Survival Evolved update brings further improvements and a speedy new dinasour

The latest update for Ark: Survival Evolved adds a another form of transport for players and their friends, well two of them. Studio Wildcard introduces the #Gallimimus, a speedy #dinosaur that seats three people, along with #newitems for the first-person game.

The Gallimimus is impressive and the only dinosaur to accomodate three passengers. But it lacks the ability to collect resources, attack other dinosaurs or even defend itself.

“Gallimimus has been often been described as being chicken-like, with it’s extremely skittish behaviour, looking nervous even when eating! The speedy herbivore makes its way onto the ARK with no natural way to defend itself except for running away. Thankfully the Gallimimus may very well be the fastest dinosaur on the ARK, it’s strength, endurance, and speed of its legs allow it to ferry up to 3 Survivors in a specially-designed Saddle.”

The new items includes the following:

  • SWAT-style Assault Armor for all your raiding needs!
  • Greenhouse structure pieces to aid survivors in growing crops
  • The shockingly powerful Electric Prod capable of rendering even the strongest unconscious.
  • Improved save-game and save-and-load times.

New special name tags and custom hat skins are coming for the Wildcard admin team, Wildcard non-admin team, authorized external testers, and “Dev Kit Masters.”

Ark: Survival Evolved is available on Early Access on Steam. So players can get into all the dinosaur action with a discount through the Humble Store’s winter sale, with a 40 percent discount but time is running out.

The full release is expected this summer on for Linux, Mac and Windows PC.
