Audiosurf 2 hits Steam Early Access in September

If you aren’t familiar with Audiosurf already, you are missing out. Sort of like a blend of music visualisation and guitar hero, it allows you to play tracks generated by your own music and it’s ridiculously addictive. And now, as spotted by Rock, Paper, Shotgun its sequel is coming to Steam Early Access in September.

Not much else is known about the new version, although given it is being built in Unity it seems plausible that, unlike the first game, Audiosurf 2 will be available on Linux and Mac – and potentially mobile devices. Developer Dylan Fitterer has also said on Twitter that Audiosurf 2 will feature Steam Workshop support for mods and it will support Soundcloud as a music source.

While we wait for September to roll on in, you can check out Audiosurf 2‘s teaser trailer embedded below. I’m not sure how I feel about the new perspective, hopefully it still has the standard behind-the-vehicle view too.
