Book of Travels TMORPG is due to release in August via Steam Early Access for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Thanks to developer Might and Delight. Due to release on Steam this summer.

After a hugely successful Kickstarter and a closed beta for the TMORPG. Might and Delight are ready for Book of Travels to become part of a deep role-playing experience with “living painting” visuals. Due to arrive in Early Access on August 9th.  Inspired by genre classics, this is a serene adventure that puts you adrift in a fairytale world. It’s also an invite to roleplay without the limits of linear missions and plotlines. Feel at liberty to travel the free wilds and vivid cities of the Braided Shore peninsula. As a result, you will wonder deep into the layers of this hand drawn world. Stumbling upon its hidden places or unravel one of its many mysteries. There is no overarching goal and no real beginning or end. Although for mortal characters the stakes can be high.

  • Authentic roleplaying and individual playstyles
Pick one of 20+ Forms in a detailed character creation sheet. Focusing on personality and identity rather than stats and classes.
Book of Travels allows you to play in a style that matches your character. That way you can set your own personal goals. Are you a danger seeking adventurer. Maybe a stoic practitioner of magic binding, or a carefree tea drinking gambler?
  • Boundless narrative that won’t hold your hand
Your travels will present you with countless randomly occurring events. This makes your story unique, and each session different from the last.
Peel back the layers of diverse plotlines. All while you discover a very deep fairytale world.
  • TMO – Tiny multiplayer online
Other players are few, but your paths will cross. Therefore, it’s up to you to choose to travel together or go it alone.
Find vehicles to reach far flung places or just ramble through woods together. The absence of guilds and social structures makes your temporary fellowships unique and memorable.
  • A beautiful world of uncertainty
An intricate and unique world that draws inspiration from old world fairytales. This also includes Eastern mythologies and early industrial eras. While offering tons of intricate event chains. These will unlock items, characters, and deep world secrets. Even hidden Book of Travels gameplay features and tricks.

Symbols and Systems:

  • Communicate using symbols
Learn to use a unique set of symbols to communicate with other players.
Unlock new symbols as you encounter new features and places. For example, you’ll gain the symbol for “city” only after you’ve visited a city. The limits in communication lay the foundation for a rich and friendly multiplayer experience.
  • Innovative RPG systems
Define your character by unlocking and mastering 300+ abilities. These include magical skills and passive feats. All due to have a huge impact on your character and open up different events of Book of Travels.
Gain experience in numerous ways: by exploring, being courteous, gathering, and trading. Battles can be rewarding, but you will learn more in defeat than in victory.
  • The world is a hand painted diorama
Experience a unique game view perspective ‘painted’ in a richly detailed artstyle.
Click to walk like old school RPGs but in scenes with 3-dimensional depth.

New Content for Book of Travels:

Much like a dungeon master, the developer will hint about new mysterious scenarios. Likewise, it will be up to you, the player, to let Might and Delight know what we should explore next. Who will also be adding new levels, constantly making the vast world even bigger. Due to adding new playable characters. Of course thousands of storylines and events. Stories will change and evolve and eras of new stories will follow.

Book of Travels was announced on Steam in autumn 2019 for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Gameplay also borrows classic RPG elements to create a game experience that’s unlike typical RPGs. The game is light on stats and focuses instead on roleplaying. This includes explorating and personality. As a Tiny Multiplayer Online – or TMO – players will meet less often than in MMOs. This makes those meetings a key part of the play experience. There are no linear quest lines built into the game. So instead Book of Travels will be a truly living world. And also one where you’ll stumble across events and characters unexpectedly.

Book of Travels TMORPG is due to release on August 9th via Steam Early Access. Due to make its way onto Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. But you can Wishlist the game now on Steam.
