Buildanauts an open world contruction game lands on Kickstarter

TouchTilt Games announced today the launch of a crowdfunding campaign for its #innovative open-world construction #simulation videogame, “Buildanauts.” The game, set for release in early 2015, is being developed for Linux, Mac, Windows PC, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Developed by Halifax-based TouchTilt Games, “Buildanauts” will allow players of all ages to experience a vast, open world where they can design and build their very own living town. The whimsical, non-violent construction simulator lets players operate heavy machinery, wield a variety of power tools, and complete assignments and side-quests as they build the town of their dreams from the ground up.

“I’m making ‘Buildanauts’ because it’s the game I’ve always wanted to play with my children,” said Shane Whitehouse, CEO of TouchTilt Games. “That’s why I believe our Kickstarter campaign will be a success. I know there are other players out there who are thinking, ‘Why hasn’t anyone made this game yet?’ Well, we are making it; and with your help, it’s going to be amazing.”

  • Explore your own open world
  • Design, build, and manage a town from the ground up
  • Operate heavy machinery and wield construction tools
  • Build with a friend in 2-player co-op mode
  • Soundtrack by movie industry veteran Sean Beeson

Funds provided through Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight will allow developer TouchTilt Games to complete production of the game, which Whitehouse estimates is 50 percent done. Crowdfunding will enable TouchTilt Games to complete the game and polish the user experience, then port it to consoles.

The Kickstarter campaign for “Buildanauts” ends on November 5 th.
