Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four RPG action card game due this summer on Windows PC, but Linux is on the table. Thanks to a recent reply from developer Elder Games. Coming to Early Access this summer on Steam.
Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four is a procedurally generated collectible card game. On that also mixes in action RPG elements. And at first glance, looks like the art style of Torchlight 2 mixed with Magicka. The games also due to release on Early Access this summer for Windows PC. So naturally, I had to reach out regarding Linux.
Linux Support:
The Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four game engine is Unity.
We are still discussing Linux support internally. So nothing is set in stone for now. But it’s on the table, as far as discussions go.
During the Early Access phase, we must focus on the Windows version only. Make sure the game is the best possible version it can be. So if any porting happens, it’ll definitely be post launch.
So clearly Linux is not a confirmation for Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four. But once again, it’s a pleasure to see that support is on the table. And the use of Unity 3D definitely helps. Not only that, but the engine can hopefully make the game playable via Proton. With “full content to be completed by late fall.” Making the Early Access period somewhat short.
Also, seeing this is not a full out confirmation. Linux support does look hopeful. And I dig the art style. I’m also pleased to see this is not some 8 or 16 bit style game. Definitely a title to keep an eye on.
In Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four, you are a dark wizard. One who also shouldn’t have tinkered with magic and spells. Since they are way too powerful for you. But you did. And this time you messed up really bad. Unleashing The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and their minions. Now the world is in peril. So hurry, grab your magical cards and send them all back to their hellish dimension. Hopefully before the Apocalypse destroys everyone and everything. More importantly, before the old wizard council discovers what you have done.
Collect creature and spell cards throughout your journey and unleash their power if anyone opposes you!
The game world is endlessly generated. There’s always something new to explore!
