A special Christmas Truce event begins in authentic WW1 FPS games Verdun now. Since players on Steam can throw snowballs, play football, and explore a Christmas truce map. One full of details and scenes inspired by real-life accounts of the event.

The event is based on the well-known historic Christmas Truce from WW1 in 1914. Just 5 months after the start of the conflict, the first Christmas of WW1 came around. Leadership on both sides were reconsidering their strategies following a stalemate. Also, the indecisive result of the First Battle of Ypres. As a result of the lull in hostilities, soldiers in parts of the front started to cross the trenches in the week leading up to Christmas to exchange seasonal greetings, gifts, and talk. In a couple of areas, soldiers from both sides ventured into No Man’s Land on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All due to exchange gifts of food and souvenirs. There were joint burials and prisoner swaps, but they also had some fun. People played football and sang carols from their countries.

WW1 FPS Verdun takes place on the Western Front between 1914 and 1918. Doing so in one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history. Taking inspiration by the infamous Battle of Verdun in France, 1916. The game offers four distinct game modes: Frontlines, Attrition, Rifle Deathmatch, and Squad Defense.
