Civilization VI coming to Linux soon according to Aspyr Media

So is finally coming to Linux and #SteamOS. Since this has been a long time coming, #AspyrMedia #announced the coming release back in October.

Aspyr Media have announced that some recent changes after a comment posted on Steam from Michael Blair. While they have already brought Civilization VI to Mac. While this is great for those who already own the game. Civilization VI is already the top revenue gams of 2016. So obviously people would be more than just a bit interested to play the Linux port.

Aspyr Media are handling the port, and have already brought the game to Mac. Until now, Linux gamers have been left hanging, with Aspyr saying they were checking the “feasibility” of a Linux port, but their wait is now over.

So the official announcement does not issue when the game coming, beyond “soon”. Yet one Aspyr developer commented on Steam:

“Its going through QA approvals as I type. I should note that QA sweeps on a game this large is no small task…but we are talking a matter of weeks, not months. ”

Therefore, if you are holding out for the Linux release, we understand. Keep in mind the gameplay will be improved with all the patches. So we are keen to see what sort of frame rate we get.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, winner of 15 E3 awards including Best PC Game and Best Strategy Game, is the next entry in the popular Civilization franchise, which has sold in over 35 million units worldwide, including more than 8 million units of Civilization V.

So Civilization VI is available on Steam, here’s hoping a bunch of you bought it during the Winter Sale.
