Clive ‘N’ Wrench 3D platformer and native support

clive ‘n’ wrench 3d platformer game and linux support beside windows pc

Clive ‘N’ Wrench 3D platformer game and Linux support beside Windows PC. According to developer Dinosaur Bytes Studio. Due to release on Steam in Winter 2020.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench is both retro and based on time travel. So this game will take fans of the 90s 3D genre back and beyond.

The heroes of the game are Clive – a rabbit and his monkey sidekick, Wrench. Who is alos literally the monkey on Clive’s back. Join this dynamic while they embark on some crazy adventures. Working through time and space in their unusual choice of transport. All in a magical 1950’s fridge.

The gameplay reminds me of a blend of Yooka-Laylee in the classic World of Padman setting. But I also reached out regarding a Linux port.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench is built in Unity. And a Linux port is a hopeful possibility in the future. But I unfortunately only have the capacity to focus on PC and Switch initially.

With the Clive ‘N’ Wrench release planned for Winter 2020. This means keeping focus on the initial release platforms. Then expanding support to accommodate the community. And this is one of a couple of emails from Dinosaur Bytes Studio. Neither of which say “no” to Linux. But confirm that it’s a matter of “capacity” and time. Especially since Unity 3D is being used for development. Which should make porting easier.

Clive ‘N’ Wrench – Preorder Trailer

Clive ‘N’ Wrench are on a mission. Clive’s cousin Nancy has made a huge mistake, huge. So their quest is to undo the damage and put an end to Dr Daucus’ crusade once and for all.
Prepare for a wild ride in the fridge as they take you whirling through time and space encountering all sorts of wild adventures. These time travels will take you to unimaginable places including Middle-Age-Crisis town, not for the faint hearted; way back in time to a very cold prehistoric Iceceratops and the eerie Tempus Tombs of ancient Egypt to name a few.
The space journey takes players through 11 levels in this 3D platformer, each with their own boss battle. You will meet all sorts of curious characters on the way as you tackle the Challenges.

Inspired by many retro games of the 90s 3D Platform genre. Such as Spyro the Dragon and Jak & Daxter. Clive ‘N’ Wrench has been in the works since 2011! It’s also the brainchild of sole developer Rob Wass. A massive fan of the 3D Platform retro game genre.
Due to arrive winter 2020 on Windows PC initially. Expecting to be priced at $29.99 USD / £24.99 / €29.99. Followed hopefully by Linux support. So be sure to Wishlist on Steam.
