Sierra On-Line founders Ken and Roberta Williams’ Colossal Cave, is the ultimate 3D version of the original text adventure. Announcing the release date for Windows PC and Mac, on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023. Where unreal wonders await those seeking true adventure. Doing so in a winding maze of underground caves. Story book beasts manifest as living creatures, ready to become life long friends or foes. Complete complex puzzles while wandering through massive caverns. All full of perilous dangers and amazing treasures.

There is also hope for Colossal Cave on Linux. Since the developer has a focus on the Steam Deck.

Native Linux support is fairly easy for us. We are doing it for the Steamdeck version.
I’ll rethink it as a result of your query, and will watch the wishlist requests coming in to see how many people indicate an interest in Linux.

UPDATE: January 9th, 2023

We have the Linux steam deck version going. I’m not sure if that same version will run on a normal linux computer. Probably, but I’ll need to ask.

As you can see in the Steam Comments, this is good news. But there is also a demand for Wishlist support. Even though the game is developed in Unity 3D. Leaving hope for Proton, but also edging Linux gamers to “Wishlist Colossal Cave“.
