Developer ShoulderByte is eager to announce their first title, Drill Keeper. It’s an awesome mix of different genres that will keep you on the edge. Due to combine the fun of building your own deck of cards, defending a base, and exploring worlds that you can break apart. The games is also ready for a native Linux port.

I am happy to inform you that the game is being developed and tested with Linux support since day 1. I had accidentally forgotten to add it to the Steam page, but have now done so.

In Drill Keeper, you’ll take on the role of a brave adventurer in charge of a massive mining drill. Your goal is to make sure the drill survives by collecting valuable resources from these destructible worlds. But there’s a catch! There are creatures called the Swarm that will try to attack your drill. So it’s up to you to defend it using your smarts and strategy.

First, you get to create your own deck of cards. These cards are like tools that you can use to build defenses and defeat enemies. As you play, you’ll earn new cards to add to your deck. Then you can choose which ones to use based on your own Drill Keeper strategy.

But that’s not all! The worlds in Drill Keeper are fully destructible. So you can break them apart with your trusty pickaxe. By digging paths in the world, you can actually control the movement of the enemies. You can guide them right into your strongest defenses, making it easier for you to protect your drill.

The roguelite deckbuilding and tower defense game is also replayable, since each world is different every time you play. You can unlock special runes and cards that give you even more options and tactics to use. There’s even a Chaos Mode for extra challenges.
