DYSMANTLE open world survival game is Proton only for Linux, but due to release on Windows PC and Mac. Thanks to more than a year of work by developer 10tons Ltd. Due to get a full release soon on Steam and GOG.
Multiplatform game developer and publisher 10tons will launch DYSMANTLE on November 16th. Which is a successful post-apocalyptic open world action RPG where you ruin everything. All while you craft tools for survival from the ruins. 10tons claims DYSMANTLE features a distinct bitter sweet apocalypse not available in competing titles. While providing the high quality post apocalyptic entertainment. The content has been expanded during the development period. But the plans for Linux are now different.
At this point it looks like we’re trusting in Proton regarding Linux support. This is a change in our plans. If it starts to look like Proton can’t handle things, we might revisit the topic.
For a small team like us (3 people) additional platforms are always a lot of work in the end. As the Proton seems to be handling our games, we’ll focus on other things.
10tons originally planned to release DYSMANTLE on Linux after Early Access. However, since community members have mentioned the game working on Proton, the Linux build is not an option. Unless of course Proton support starts to have issues. 10tons also make the same decision for their other game Skeletal Avenger. DYSMANTLE development is using 10tons Ltd. own proprietary game engine.
