Epic Games has a new ‘high-end’ game in the making which will #unleash the true power of #nextgeneration of graphics or maybe push it to its limits. Unreal Engine 4.1 Release Notes.
Speaking to Edge-Online about this ‘high-end’ project, Epic Games Founder Tim Sweeney stated:
It’s going to push next generation graphics as you’d always expect Epic to do.
Though Sweeney did not divulge any other details about the ongoing project, he did mention a number of titles from other studios that are currently being developed using Unreal Engine 4. Maybe we will have a look at them at the upcoming E3 or other gaming conferences:
There are a lot [of games] on the way and a large number of them haven’t been announced. You’ll see lots of triple-A stuff coming out over time.
However, Sweeney also stated that not all of these games are Triple-A titles. To him, the gaming industry is rapidly changing and as compared to the previous generation, the Triple-A titles are a minority now.
The industry’s changing – this generation it seems like there are about a third of the number of triple-A titles in development across the industry as there was last time around – and each one seems to have about three times the budget of the previous generation. I think we’re heading towards a future where triple-A is the minority.
Lastly, Sweeney shunned down the reports that stated Epic Games is pulling away from the game development and is primarily focusing on selling Unreal Engine. He stated that both of these things are inseparable and they have a vast number of people working on both things.
