fabular: once upon a spacetime action RPG support update for linux beside windows pc with a demo

Fabular: Once upon a Spacetime action RPG for Windows PC has a support update for Linux plus a Demo. Thanks to a recent reply from developer Spiritus Games. Due to release this year on Steam.

Indie studio Spiritus Games’ debut title, Fabular: Once upon a Spacetime is an 2D action RPG. But doing so in space with roguelike influences set in a medieval. And a folktale inspired fantasy universe just received a gameplay trailer. Along with a lot of interesting new visuals and gameplay mechanics. Plus the developers also have a tasty game Demo worth playing on Steam.

Setting for a release this year on Windows PC. Fabular: Once upon a Spacetime offers a unique blend of the tactical depth of classic action RPG’s. Including procedural generation and text-based events of modern roguelikes. While immersing players in a never before seen universe of surreal retro futurism.

Linux Support:

MonoGame does run on Linux. So a Fabular port to Linux is possible. But we have no immediate plans for that at the moment. Unfortunately, the audience size on Linux / Mac who would likely to buy Fabular is probably very small. And we have just 1 programmer who is not really familiar with these platforms.

Fabular: Once upon a Spacetime is developed using MonoGame. So it only makes sense to see a Linux build. But this is also a support update for the Kickstarter FAQ. Which is somewhat of a disappointment to be honest. Since I was hoping for good news in the email reply.
That being said, there is a workaround. The current Demo is very playable using Proton 5-09 on Linux. And well worth it. Which could also apply to the full release coming this year.
