Friendship Club an action multiplayer on Early Access for Linux, Mac and Windows PC

Friendship Club is a #local-multiplayer bullet-hell #arena #shooter from Force Of Habit for Linux, Mac & Windows PC now on Steam. Catch bullets with supreme agility. Headbutt your opponents into oblivion.

Play as one of Timmy’s four best (and imaginary) friends. Chud – a beast from the mountains. Old Man Ricketts – a prospector driven mad by his lust for gold. Shakey Jake – a ninja, bandit, skeleton… thing. The Canardinal – a duck from the Vatican!

Friendship Club designer Nick Dymond says: “Friendship Club is set in the imagination of a child in 1950’s America, and draws from animation and music of that era. For example, the soundtrack contains a bunch of sampled records of old public domain material, and the animation contains slapstick humour harking back to the legendary Warner Bros cartoons.”

Sophie Humphries and Tom Boot – Friendship Club‘s artist and animator – comment on the visual characteristics as “a cross between the vibrant scenes and bizarre perspectives of Mary Blair’s Disney concept art, with a much more graphic style that emphasises simplicity. The animation reflects this too, whilst also taking lots of cues from classic old cartoons.”

It’s been in open-development the whole time, and we’ve been keeping to a strict fortnightly update/release cycle to show the community what we’re working on. Now that the game is coming to a larger audience on Steam, we’re hoping to keep the community growing and to continue incorporating their feedback.”

Important notice from Force Of Habit:

“Just a note we’re having an audio issue with the current linux build up on Steam. Running through Steam may result in lack of audio. If this happens to you, running from local files using run.sh seems to fix it.”
