Gone Home, the story-focused exploration game from The Fullbright Company, will be released Aug. 15 on Windows, Mac and Linux for $19.99 through Steam, the studio announced today.
It will also be available in DRM-free form on the game’s website.
A finalist in the Excellence in Narrative category at the 2013 Independent Games Festival Awards, Gone Home takes place during the 1990s in the home of the Greenbriar family. You play as Katie, who returns from a year spent abroad during college to an empty house. As you explore your surroundings, you’ll find clues that paint a picture of who your family members are and what happened to them.
You can take a look at four screenshots of Gone Home above to explore artifacts from the house: a newspaper clipping, a note, a business card and a gig poster.
