guntastic online party brawler drops support for the game on linux for mac and windows pc

Guntastic online party brawler drops support plans for the game on Linux in favour of Mac and Windows PC. According to recent details from developer Ludicrous Games. Due to launch early next month on Steam.

Prepare for some quick arcade action on December 4, 2020. When Guntastic releases Steam after four major Early Access updates. Due to bring the online party brawler to a full release. But that launch will not include the game on Linux.

Unfortunately, we ultimately decided not to move forward with Linux support.

After keeping in contact with Ludicrous Games for over a year now. There were hopes for a day one launch on Linux. Since game development is using Unreal Engine 4. Supporting a rather smooth and very playable party game. Including positive reviews on Steam.
But at the same time, the player feedback is limited. Including the requests for a native port. And as a result, I’m sure this plays into Ludicrous choice to drop support plans. Option B would be Proton 5.13-2, but so far no luck. And the same for the Glorious Eggrole edition.

Guntastic – Launch Trailer

Guntastic is a couch and online party brawler. Where up to four players battle in lightning fast, one shot one kill rounds. These only last for 25 seconds. Anyone who’s still alive is forcibly eliminated. While putting players in control of flippant characters. As you work to master nine deadly weapons. Including five game changing powerups in six hand crafted settings. Making for an unforgiving throwback to the 16-bit coin op games of the past.

Players can find opponents through matchmaking. Or simply create private lobbies to explode their friends. Whatever the playstyle they’ll be up for some quick arcade action. Master the Guntastic nine deadly weapons and five powerups. Doing so in four hand-crafted settings of the game.

Guntastic is a fast paced couch and online arena brawler with comical violence. Including epic one-shot one-kill battles that last for just 25 seconds. Due to get a full release on Mac and Windows PC. Priced at $11.99 USD on Steam. But Proton support would be a bonus to play the game on Linux.
