Hades roguelike dungeon crawler support

hades roguelike dungeon crawler games linux support

Hades is a roguelike dungeon crawler from the creators of the Bastion and Transistor games, now on Windows but Linux support looks plausible. Since the title is now in Early Access, but only on the Epic Store.

Hades is a roguelike dungeon crawler where you defy the god of death. So as you hack and slash your way out of the Underworld of Greek myth. It’s never the same experience twice. Therefore, each time you play, you’ll combine the divine might of various Olympian gods with your own. Braving nefarious new challenges.

So in Hades we unravel more of the story. Once again featuring the Supergiant award-winning art, audio, and narrative. Since reaching out to Supergiant, the candid feedback certainly has my attention.

Early Access and Linux Support:

  1. We’ve never launched a game into Early Access before. And our players have come to expect complete, self-contained titles from us ever since Bastion’s debut in 2011. With Hades, we knew we really wanted to create a game we could develop in partnership with the community. And from talking to the folks at Epic. We realized their store would be the perfect place to conduct our latest experiment.
  2. Our focus during Early Access will be on making Hades the best game possible. If you’re the sort of player who’s open to and interested in experiencing a game like ours take shape over time. You’ll be able to take part in its journey on the Epic Games store. If you’d prefer to wait until the game is 100% complete. We expect Hades will eventually be available on a variety of platforms, once Early Access is complete.
  3. We’re developing the game using our proprietary engine (which we’ve used and improved on since the Bastion days).
  4. We are looking into it, but can’t guarantee anything today. Each of our previous games have supported Linux, and we hope to continue that trend in any case.

Hades – Early Access Trailer (Windows, Linux will be later)

So as you can see, Linux support gets a mention. Being that the game is in Early Access and this is a first time for Supergiant. The reason the studio is developing Hades in Early Access, is to make the best game it can be.
