Seriously, I apologise for the lack of Hand of Fate 2 release date information for Linux. Hence the news got me so eager I forgot to post it. So without further haste, the follow-up to 2015’s acclaimed action RPG‘s release date is November 7th, 2017. The games also set to have a day one release for Linux, Ubuntu, Mac and Windows.
Building on the celebrated deckbuilding mechanics and hack-and-slash gameplay. The beloved sequel to the predecessor, Hand of Fate 2 introduces more robust combat. While also including companions who can join the adventures, with a deeper narrative.
Along with the release date. Defiant Development unveils the title’s fourth and final companion, Ariadne of Stiegal. Seeing companions are a new addition to the Hand of Fate franchise. Offering up support in battle, exclusive perks in the meta board game. While including dialogue options and their own storylines. In combat, Ariadne acts as a melee tank character with armor break abilities. While in the board game she can duplicate cards in games of chance. Improving the player’s odds dramatically across Linux, Ubuntu, Mac and Windows.
Hand of Fate 2 once again challenges players to overcome trials. All built from collectible cards, handed out by the Dealer. Each card will test players with hack-and-slash combat. As well as dangerous locales to explore, tense minigames, or Dungeons & Dragons-style decisions. A new map-based overworld allows players to discover and unlock those challenges in entirely new ways in 2017.

The games sequel also introduces a variety of new features, including weapon types and associated fighting styles, cards that can provide a powerful boost, different victory conditions for combat and the dealer’s card game, as well as all-new bosses, enemy types, and storylines.
The Dealer, Hand of Fate’s magical antagonist, returns seeking vengeance following his defeat in the first title. Under the destructive influence of Hand of Fate’s original hero, a xenophobic tyrant has crowned himself emperor, banned all magic and exiled the non-human races. Hand of Fate 2’s new hero must master the Game of Life and Death to exact the Dealer’s revenge and topple the oppressive empire.
