Heat Guardian native port coming soon

Heat Guardian top down shooter linux port coming soon

Heat Guardian is a hardcore top-down shooter set in a freezing world available on Windows, but coming to Linux. But when? Well we have feedback from the developer, finally.

Linux port is coming:

“The Linux port is in the works, you can expect it in the coming weeks.”

So this is some positive news, but we still do not have a specific release date. The fact that we have confirmation this far is a plus though. And the game engine being used for development is Construct 3. And the game also received an engine update to the latest version.

Even though we still have to wait, I’m eager to get into the mayhem of Heat Guardian on Linux.

The Story:

In Heat Guardian our world is dead. While humanity is spread over the ruins of civilization deal with the endless winter. Mutants are the new dominant species, hunting down everyone unlucky enough to survive the apocalypse.

Therefore you will have to travel through the dying lands to find the one last stronghold of humanity – trying your best to stay alive. Deadly mutants, limited resources and even the world itself make this journey a trial only the most skilled survivors can endure. In this grim place there is no easy way – prepare to fight for your life!

Surviving is a skill to master in Heat Guardian. Your foes are lethal and your ammo is scarce. So on top of this you can’t escape the main enemy – it’s in the air you breathe. Cold rules everything around and surviving means staying warm.

What makes Heat Guardian special?

  • The world is dead, the remains of humanity are living their last days. Can you find a glimmer of hope in this cruel winter?
  • A full-scale story campaign. A dangerous journey split between 40 levels – sure it won’t be a brief ride.
  • Hardcore action. Mastering the game’s combat is a process of trial and error –  you’ll see the ‘Game over’ screen a lot before learning to fight back.
  • Surviving the endless winter. Keep yourself warm and count your ammo to stay alive in this harsh new world.
  • Post-Soviet aesthetic. Heat Guardian takes place on the ruins of Eastern Europe.
  • Tools of survival. More than 50 weapon types and tools to help you in your path.
  • Fight-till-you-die mode. Additional game mode for the diehards – how long can you last against endless waves of enemies?

Also, Heat Guardian is solo-development of Denis Rudoy from Kyiv, Ukraine. And his first ever game.

Heat Guardian had a big patch for the game this past week. So this another reason why I am excited for the Linux build.
Since the hardcore action shooter is now using the newer Construct engine version. Which performs 5 times faster and supports additional graphic effects. And the difficulty now scales much better.

Price and Availability:

Heat Guardian is available on Steam priced at $7.99 USD for Windows, but the Linux port is coming soon. More details available as we get closer to the release.
