Unfortunately the closed beta will be exclusive to the Xbox One, which launches in February.
Meanwhile, there’s a new gameplay #trailer, below, that shows off the open-world first-person shooter’s Occupied Philadelphia, 2029 setting.
Most of the footage so far shows off the game’s singleplayer campaign. Developer Dambuster Studios have teases co-op as a main feature on the official website. The gameplay shows multiple friendly characters, so it’s easy to see how co-op will fit in.
This new trailer highlights the Yellow Zone. People living in a constant state of fear in these areas as Korean forces crack down on any perceived threats. But are more areas to play in.
Dambuster Studios Gamescom reveal highlighted some ‘Red Zone’ gameplay. These Red Zones are on the outlying areas of Philadelphia. Korean forces and the Resistance Movement do battle openly in a demolished urban environment.
Homefront is developed by Nottingham studio Dambuster, founded by Deep Silver after the publisher bought the rights to the Homefront series from Crytek. Crytek UK, which had been developing Homefront, closed down after its parent company ran into financial challenges. But many of Dambuster Studios staff used to work at Crytek UK and Free Radical Design before that. So expect impressive gameplay.
