Hypercharge multiplayer shooter coming soon

Digital Cybercherries, the team behind last year’s VR arcade simulator NewRetroArcade have just announced their first title, Hypercharge.

Currently in alpha, Hypercharge is a multiplayer shooter, where players control highly customizable action figures that battle amongst a series of environments in and around a suburban home. Someone reminiscent to the World of Padman.

Players are able to switch between third and first person views. But it is the ‘hero creator’ that has our attention, this will allow players to design their own action hero by selecting from different materials (plastic, metal or a glowing look along with different parts. Such as combining a shark’s head with a female torso and robotic limbs, something warped.

There will also be multiple land, air and naval vehicles to choose from, including a drone, a remote controlled jeep.

Digital Cybercherries is using Unreal Engine 4 to create those realistic textures for the in game models. The environment and textures look clean for the moment, the team is aiming to add dirt by release, plus scuff marks and small stains to create realistic environments.

There is no set release date for Hypercharge at the moment, but Digital Cybercherries is aiming to launch the game on PC and Xbox One, with planned support for Linux and Mac. So stay tuned for further details and keep an eye out on Steam.
