Infinite Skills Release Advanced Unity 3D Game Development Training Video

Software training firm Infinite Skills Inc. last week introduced its “Advanced Unity 3D Game Development Training Video,” a course focusing on advanced capabilities and tools for mobile game development using the Unity 3D game engine.

Unity offers a cross-platform engine capable of producing and deploying 3D content for web plugins, desktop platforms, consoles, and mobile devices. Currently, more than one million game developers are estimated to use the Unity engine.

The Infinite Skills “Advanced Unity 3D Game Development Training Video” teaches several key topics relating to finalizing games for deployment, allowing developers to take the final steps toward launching a game by learning how to host multiplayer games and synchronize actions in a multiplayer setting.

Course author Robert Wiebe has enjoyed a productive career as a programmer and analyst, having developed and managed systems for major companies and government institutions for more than a decade. Before turning toward game development in recent years, Wiebe founded and led a number of research development companies and projects including Burning Thumb Software. He has written two books on Unity and Apple’s iOS platform,.

“I shopped around quite a bit, trying out various game engines, before I decided on Unity,” Wiebe explains. “There are two main reasons to use Unity. It has a great workflow, and its cross-platform support is one of the most reliable on the market. Unity really comprehends the value of smooth workflow.”

Wiebe’s decades of experience as a systems architect and software developer give him the technical expertise and day-to-day work experience to make the Advanced Unity 3D Game Development Tutorial both technically precise and easy to understand.

After reviewing Unity 4 basics, covering topics like views, custom layouts, and parenting, Wiebe begins exploring the technical details involved in producing a game on a multiplayer platform. He explains how to run a master server for both internet and LAN-based gaming and how to use various protocols to host a game.

Other important topics include creating platforms for communication between players using chat windows and creating a social API with profiles and scores etc; and learning to synchronize game actions such as pickups, drops, and explosions, across a multiplayer environment.

Free demo videos and a full list of course contents can be found on the Advanced Unity 3D Game Development Tutorial training page of the Infinite Skills website.
