June Release for the Point-and-click thriller Gods Will Be Watching

Gods Will Be Watching, the point-and-click #adventure #game from Valencia, Spain-based Deconstructeam, will be released this June on Linux, Mac and Windows PC, publisher #DevolverDigital announced today.

Devolver Digital will release the game via Steam, GOG and the Humble Store.

Deconstructeam initially created Gods Will Be Watching for the Ludum Dare 26 game jam at the end of April 2013. Operating under the theme of “minimalism,” the studio designed a game that played out as a series of text-based choices. Last summer, Deconstructeam decided to crowdfund the development of an expanded version of the Ludum Dare title. Devolver Digital announced before the end of the funding drive in mid-August that it would publish the game; the studio ended up raising more than €20,000 in its Indiegogo campaign.

Gods Will Be Watching focuses on an individual named Sgt. Burden and his crew of space explorers, and follows their travels across the stars as they attempt to escape from a variety of sticky situations over the course of six chapters. Deconstructeam promises that Gods Will Be Watching will challenge players’ morals and force them to make some hard choices in order to survive and prevent a genocide.

Interested parties can play the original Ludum Dare title for free on the studio’s website and check out Gods Will Be Watching at a few upcoming gaming events: the SXSW Gaming Expo in Austin, Texas; EGX Rezzed in Birmingham, U.K.; and PAX East in Boston. A new teaser trailer can be seen above.
