Leisure Suit Larry reaches its goal on Kickstarter

by: Stephanie Carmichael

Leisure Suit Larry has met its $500,000 goal on Kickstarter with six days to go.

Replay Games will remake Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards with a modern interface, high-resolution graphics, fully voiced characters, and more. If the developers can bring in extra money, they’ll consider adding more languages and platforms (PSN, XBLA, and Linux have been named).

The remastered game will release for PC (including Steam), Mac, iPad, and Android tablets.

Update #14: YOU DID IT!!!

OK, so let me start off this update by apologizing to you guys. I know I promised an update with Part 2 from the Fireside Chat but truth be told, we’ve been having issues with YouTube all day. So I’ve been waiting for that to finish processing before I sent you guys the update. Well, screw that.

So, back to the topic of you guys being awesome…..YOU DID IT!! Each and every one of you made this game a reality. You’ve fulfilled many people’s dreams today!! Al’s, Josh’s, mine, Sabine’s, Britton’s, and how can we forget Oded & Oran!! While I’d like to say we’re stopping here, I just can’t. We want to hit our next milestone of $750k so we can add what you guys have voted (forums.replaygamesinc.com) for: more game play!! So let’s keep this Kickstarter going so we can do just that: give Oded & Oran some more work to do and make them have even more sleepless nights when it comes to crunch mode!!! Josh has already come up with an AWESOME mini-game (thanks to my friend Peter for inspiration) that includes women and anger, and his creative juices have just STARTED to flow!!

It’s about 1am here in Austin and I’m still replying to emails from you guys, the best fans in the whole damn world. So, while you up your pledges to $5k each, know that every dollar is being spent wisely on your next AAA game from the best team in the business IMNSHO (in my not so humble opinion)!!!

Stephen from Kotaku is writing his piece write now and that should be up soon, we had an AMAZING article from Daniel @ Forbes run today (part 2 is tomorrow…or today in case you’re an hour ahead of me) and even more love from every single press outlet on the planet. And it’s all because of you. You made this happen and we are merely your servants. So we owe you and we promise to do our very damned best not to let you down.

Sincerely yours,

-Paul T.
