ChinaJoy B To B Area to Facilitate the Surge of Medium and Small Game Developers

ChinaJoy scheduled for July 28-31 at Shanghai New International Expo Center recently announced that its B To B Area at Hall W5 is ready to provide growth opportunities for innovative medium and small game developers.

ChinaJoy B To B Area is designed to provide a platform for product exchanges, overseas expansions, introduction of development technologies and outsourcing talks for domestic and international game business. In 2010, the zone covering an area of more than 2,000 square meters attracted a total of 118 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions and over 4,000 professional visitors. This year, ChinaJoy B To B Area is expected to take a total area of 8,000 square meters and attract between 8,000 and 10,000 traders.

According to Howell, the organizer of ChinaJoy, China has formed a pyramid-like industrial structure, with the leading enterprises at the top, followed by second-tier companies and medium and small developers and game studios. The medium and small game studios are large in number, roughly a total of 3,000 in China, with even more individual game developers and fans. However, those teams are facing severe limitations in their fund chains, business channels and technical supports that have blocked their growth and put their life at risk. Many of them own wonderful ideas, technologies and products, but there is no platform to showcase those advantages. Therefore, Howell has planned this year’s ChinaJoy B To B Area according to their unique needs with minimal access requirements to attract as many domestic and international medium and small game developers as possible, covering various game products on platforms including MMO, webgame, mobile game, Flash game and SNS & Social game. Meanwhile, ChinaJoy will also invite domestic game operators, platform providers, overseas game publishers / agents, overseas game development technology providers, venture capitals, to discover outstanding products and teams.

In order to encourage innovations, ChinaJoy allows the medium and small teams to use a custom designed Business Matching System after buying one trade pass of ChinaJoy B To B Area. They will be able to invite domestic and international investors and publishers / operators in the exhibition zone and hold on-site talks if the other party agrees to. The business matching system is a superior functional device that will help buyer and sellers to make the deal with great efficiency.

According to Howell, in business talks through reservations, both parties would have a knowledge of the products and technologies in question, which will help reach agreement between them and increase the efficiency of business talks. For highly innovative products, the organizer will arrange an evaluation by professionals including domestic and international media and investors in order to better showcase the highlights of China’s game industry.
