Cosmic Express puzzle game launches with discount on Steam

cosmic express puzzle game launches with discount linux gaming news

Cosmic Express [official site] is a #puzzlegame about planning a train route now #available on Steam for Linux.

The gameplay seems simple enough though, a puzzle about laying train tracks inside spacedomes to bring passengers to their destinations. All created for the world’s most awkward space colony, hence the creative minds behind A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build and the art of Tyu from Klondike. While gameplay looks cute, it is harder than it looks. But, Cosmic Express guaranteed to give players hours of frustrating fun across hundreds of levels.

Features

  • Hundreds of aliens that need your help to find a home.
  • Challenging puzzles from the minds behind A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build.
  • Overwhelmingly-cute alien world brought to life by Tyu.

So the roots of Cosmic Express is actually some interesting gaming news. Apparently, just hours after the launch of A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build, Alan Hazelden sat down on the California Zephyr train in Chicago. While part of Train Jam 2015, he made the short game Train Braining, which would later form the base for Cosmic Express. Then over a year later, Hazelden teamed up again with Benjamin Davis (A Good Snowman) along with the talented 3D artist, Tyu, to form the Cosmic Engineers. Joined by Maize Wallin for audio and Nick Dymond for music. Here the team spent just nine months taking a rough prototype to a polished gem. Hence a success for knowing exactly what you’re making from the very start of a project.

Cosmic Express is now available for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC from Itch and Steam. The best part of this bit of gaming news, Itch will give buyers both DRM-free versions and a Steam key. Hence offering the developers more cash. Now released for $7.99/£5.59/7,99€/, which includes a 20% launch discount.
