Eastshade adventure to support SteamOS

eastshade adventure will support steamos and linux games

Eastshade peaceful adventure games going to support SteamOS and Linux. Thanks to developer of ex-Sukerpunch environment artist Danny Weinbaum. Who has also been working with collaborators across the world. Doing so for the past five years. Now that the games live on Steam, the reviews are a Very Positive 87%.

Eastshade is a peaceful adventure. Where players follow your mother’s last wishes. Exploring the fantastic island of Eastshade in search of beautiful landscapes to paint. Also making friends and uncovering secrets along the way.

Eastshade Studios also aim to create a sense of place. Since this is the studio’s second release. Including an exciting world worth exploring. Danny Weinbaum, director of Eastshade Studios, explains:

“When the magic of a game world bleeds out into your wonder for the real world. You know you have an enriching fantasy. Eastshade is, above all, a travel simulator. Our goal was to make a place worth travelling to. A place you want to be. An an escapist experience that leaves the player enriched and inspired. And more excited about the real world.”

Linux Support:

“Yep! On SteamOS anyway. That is the distro I will download and test on. As I understand it, that means it should also work on a great many other distros, but that’s the one I’ll officially support. Cheers!”

February 18th Update:

“I can 100% confirm there’s a Linux release coming up – no specific timeframe as of yet.”

We also have this same comment in the thread:

“Mac and Linux are still planned for Eastshade. And will be sometime after the initial Windows release of Feb 13 (at the risk of being honest with my thoughts. my _guess_ is <1 month after, but I can’t know for sure). We’ve unlisted those platforms on our steam page for the moment. Because we’re not able to pass Steam’s verification. While having them listed, and cannot set per-platform release dates. So nothing has changed. Additionally, I’d like to point out that “promise” might be a strong word. For merely being open with our internal plans. Its not as if we’ve started taking preorders for those platforms.”

So there you have it. Plus we also have the IndieDB page that outlines Linux support. Which sort of puts Eastshade Studios on the hook. NO PRESSURE!!!
