tannenberg free roumanian update and discount for linux mac windows

Tannenberg the WW1 shooter has a new free update and discount for Linux, Mac and Windows. Along with a 30% discount on Steam.

Blackmill Games and M2H release a free 1.5GB update for WW1 shooter Tannenberg. Also bringing a new map, a new squad, and new weapons!

Roumania joins the war

The 1918 Treaty of Bucharest was signed a little more than 100 years ago. Alone thanks to Russia’s withdrawal from the war. Roumania had little choice but to settle with the Central Powers. But until that point they fight bravely. Now they join the war once more, in the World War One first-person shooter Tannenberg.

The Roumanian Infantry squad bring reliable M93 rifles and carbines to the fight. Along with courage and discipline. They are ready to show their determination to defend Mount Cosna! In addition to their standard issue weapons, the Roumanian squad will also have access to some foreign arms.

WW1 FPS Tannenberg I Roumanian Update (Linux, Mac, Windows)

Jos Hoebe says: “We’re excited to release a new squad voted for by the community! The team wanted to add one of the smaller nations that often get overlooked in media representations of the war. And we narrowed it down to Roumania or Bulgaria. One of the fun things about Early Access is responding to what the community wants. So holding a vote to decide was an obvious choice.”

The new historical map is a vertically challenging battleground taking inspiration from Mount Cosna. Also the Second Battle of Oituz and the western parts of Roumania.
Outnumbered Romanian troops held the line against German and Austro-Hungarian attackers. Doing so long enough for their elite mountain infantry and Russian reinforcements to arrive. Blasted trees, rocks, and a few trench lines offer cover. While both sides battle for control of the mountain peak and the surrounding slopes.

FMOD Sound Update

Early Access is not just about adding new content. It’s also about continuously improving the game overall. Players have asked for improved sound effects. So now they get just that.

Of course following months of work and taking on board player feedback. Sounds have been updated in Tannenberg. In addition to the individual sound effects. The update also establishes a better overall ambience. It’s clear to know which direction sounds are coming from. And the distance of sounds are also more audible. Similar sound updates are on the way in the future for Verdun, the first game in the WW1 Game series.

WW1 Game Series

Starting out on the Western Front with the release of the first authentic WW1 FPS Verdun back in April 2015. Now expanding to the Eastern Front with Tannenberg. The 1914-1918 series throws players into intense warfare. Taking inspiration from the chaos and fury of iconic battles from the First World War. With over a million copies of Verdun sold. This is also a novel setting, which proves popular with the gaming community.

Players choose from a variety of historically accurate squads and weapons, with more available to unlock through playing the game, before diving into the mud and blood splattered battlefields of dynamic multiplayer trench warfare.

Every game is built on a base of thorough research and receives extensive post-release support bringing new content and challenges for our players. The games in the series are linked, but each one is standalone and provides a different experience, reflecting the nature of the fighting in the many-sided theatres of the war.

Steam discount:

Tannenberg is available with that 30% discount on Steam until June 4th. Which is of course playable on Linux, Mac and Windows. The games also available on Humble Store, but no discount.
