Linux Support:

“There are currently no plans for a Linux version of The Missing at this time.”

Which is sad to say, since this is a Unity 3D game after all. But there is an upside, testing the game via Proton works really well using a keyboard and mouse. I haven’t really put the time into testing controller support.
So if you are eager to play the puzzle platformer. Let me know how you make out with a controller.

So no spoilers here, but The Missing is well done. And certainly deserves a Linux port. The puzzles are challenging and unique. There is also a Steam Discussion thread available for Linux if you want to throw your +1. But seeing as how Proton saves the day here, the game works at a Gold to Platinum level.

This is also SWERY’s first new game in four years. The MISSING has you guiding J.J. on her search to find her best friend Emily. She has mysteriously gone missing while on a visit to a secluded island. Defy death by reincarnating yourself, utilize your misery to help solve the puzzles surrounding you. And also discover the secrets of the island.

The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories Trailer (Windows, Linux via Proton)

J.J. scours Memoria Island to find her best friend. Since she has gone missing during a camping trip.
However, this island was like a nightmare. So no matter how many times she sustains fatal injury, she couldn’t die. Instead is able to revive herself back to normal. J.J. ventures into the depth of the island as she drags her decapitated body along, enduring the pain.

So being that The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is developed in Japan. There is a bit of a barrier when comes to platform support. Therefore, SWERY please issue a Linux build.

The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories is available on Steam, priced at $29.99 USD. Available for Windows but plays well via Proton on Linux.
