Sileni Studios #artillery #game Mayan Death Robots is an interesting title. Having already been Greenlit, the game puts you in control of giant alien robots that land on Earth for a televised #deathmatch. The Mayans who are the only local indigenous population, assume you both sides are gods in need of worship. Putting the play in a 1v1 combat with tiny people trying to help each side out.
The match starts with each player on opposing sides of the screen. Along floating terrain, tiny Mayans scurrying around, and your Power Core. The objective is to blow up your opponent’s Power Core. Which we have to admit, ends in some momentary means of hilarity.
Features:
- Choose wisely
Pick a robot with unique abilities and weapons from a roster of ten lethal killing machines. Nuke, zap, implode, incinerate and destroy the opposition with your favorite robot and fighting style!
- Keep your friends close
Mayan Death Robots is a local multiplayer game. Ideal for looking your friends straight in the eye right before delivering the killing blow! You can even play with two people on one keyboard for maximum elbow sabotage action.
- Practice organized religion
Your tribe of tiny Mayas thinks you are a god descended from heavens, so they worship you and aid you in battle. Give them something to really believe in and blow up the enemy robot and his tribe!
- Muscle out the competition
The real Mayan gods don’t take your blasphemy lightly and come to crash the party. Set aside your differences and team up with your opponent to defeat massive bosses! Feel free to proceed with the face melting afterwards.
- Care for the environment
Use your construction gun to build defenses or create a vantage point to rain death on your opponent.
- Rewrite history
While you are playing, you traverse centuries of (alternative) Mayan history as you decipher the mysterious Mayan calendar. Acquire new robots, weapons and levels and experience historic events, changing the way you play the game.
- There can be only one
Play tournaments and upgrade your robot between matches to create new strategies. Decide once and for all who is more worthy to be idolized by the tiny Mayas!
With Mayan Death Robots, both players make their turns at the same time. Each turn, has a limited time to attack, move, or build. And the attack varies depending on the 10 Death Robots you choose. So Xbalanque attacks by pushing and pulling objects, while Akna allows the player to drop spiders that crawl along the landscape before exploding, and Chac shoots lightning bolts repeatedly. When you Move your robot, this will launch your character into the sky with a jet pack. Building of course uses a store of Tetris’ish landmasses to protect your robot, followers, and your core. Naturally you start with zero Build pieces but gain one per round; allow you to hold up to 5 and dropping all of them in on one turn. Needless to say, when you die you lose a turn and all your stored Build pieces but you regain all your health.
Mayan Death Robots is an interesting title and a must for Linux, Mac and Windows PC gamers. And you can do so by checking out the Demo for each platform and signup for the Beta.
