Midnight Ghost Hunt the games Beta Test starts tomorrow for Windows PC, via Linux with Proton. Thanks to the developers of Vaulted Sky Games. Which will be live tomorrow via Steam.

Vaulted Sky Games are eager to announce the arrival of Midnight Ghost Hunt’s Beta Test weekend, taking place between January 28th – 30th, ahead of the game’s full launch.

Players brave enough to step into Midnight Ghost Hunt’s a mix of hijinks and genuine jump scares. All that you have to do is go to the Steam page and click “Request Access” under the Playtest section. So, if you are chosen, you will get notified via email and Steam directly. Then the game will automatically show up in your Steam library.

Currently we have no plans for a native Linux client, but we are optimistically looking at Proton compatibility – it seems to be improving as a result of the upcoming steam deck.

This is a Windows PC Beta, but will hopefully work on Linux via Proton. Due note, This is a Free Beta Test for those interested in checking out Midnight Ghost Hunt.
The list of what’s new may tempt you. Hopefully, Proton can handle the game’s Anti-cheat.

So, for those who don’t know Midnight Ghost Hunt. You will take control as either a hunter or a ghost in this chaotic 4v4 hide and seek game. Hunters must work together using an array of hi-tech gadgets and weapons. Due to hunt down and destroy Ghosts as they attempt to conceal themselves around Midnight Ghost Hunt’s chilling maps. The Spectrophone, Radar, and Pathfinder can detect ghostly presences. While a range of sledgehammers, harpoons, and salt-spewing shotguns can be used to destroy the Ghosts. You can also use the Vacuum to hoover up any spectral remains.

In Midnight Ghost Hunt, ghost players possess seemingly innocuous objects. Doing so in order to hide from the Hunters and bide their time until the witching hour. The spectres will want to keep moving to keep their ectoplasm buildup low or else risk being discovered by the Hunters. Ghosts also have the ability to claim supernatural powers. This includes turning invisible, causing furniture to float, and conjuring a dangerous Ghostly miasma. Likewise, ghosts can even hide in plain sight by masquerading as a Hunter’s doppelgänger!
