Mokoko X releases a demo build with support for the game on Linux with Windows PC. Thanks to the work and development of NAISU. Due to make a full release this April on Steam.
Indie game developer NAISU has announced the demo version of Mokoko X. This is a nostalgic arcade game, which is now live on Steam as part of Steam’s Next Festival. However, the Steam page only shows the Windows PC. But after installing, there is native support for Linux. Which is a bit misleading.
Mokoko X draws inspiration from nostalgic arcade games. Due to titles like Volfied, Qix, and Gals Panic. The main goal is to capture the bigger portion of the screen. All while you assist the girls that need help against the weird bosses.
Mokoko X Announcement Trailer (Linux, Mac, Windows PC)
Mokoko X has 32 levels, 24 of which have unique bosses and minions. The other 8 levels are mega-levels in which the player will fight with 3 bosses from the previous levels at the same time.
While you are in your own area, you are safe from the enemies until your shield empties. You conquer new areas by drawing out of your area. Drawing, however, deactivates your shield and exposes you to danger in Mokoko X. Your shield decreases constantly. If you do not conquer at a certain frequency, your shield will burn out and you will not be safe in your own areas as well. There are also 3 difficulties in the game. The difficulty affects enemies, your shield, and the required conquered area percentage for the victory.
