When we last encountered MouseCraft it was immediately enamoured with its #puzzle platforming, Lemmings vs. #Tetris design. Well, that and the giant cat who takes center stage as main character and block-dropping guide for the titular mice as they make their way past various traps. A mad, grinning beast, omnipresent in the background of every level like some incredibly literal metaphor for God. Deep, meaningful stuff from the comedy game about a steampunk cat professor called Schrödinger; we are in full RPS-mode this morning.
If that is just what you are after for a lazy Monday, it’s out now on all the usual platforms as well as directly from the devs, Crunching Koalas. Launch trailer and some other cheesy tidbits below.
“Ignore pun, click article” is actually the first line of the psychic message we beam directly into you.
First priority now the game’s out is to get the level sharing elements integrated via Steam Workshop, which should extend its lifespan far past the current 80 levels and 6-10 hours of play. After that, the dev team are heading back to developing their first project, Wordtrap Dungeon, which uses a Scrabble-like mini-game to power attacks in a first person dungeon crawler. Quite the masters of odd-game construction, Crunching Koalas.
