N++ is a fast-paced, momentum-based platformer, which now has Linux support. Since we previously issued news about a coming release back in 2016. Well there was supposed to be a Linux release inbound back then.
N++ has players darting around obstacles. While narrowly evading enemies and collecting gold in a beautiful minimalist landscape. Or so you would hope, but it never is in games. It’s the first N game on PC since 2004 and Metanet Software spent those 12 years perfecting the platformer. Mind you two more years for a Linux release.
So back in 2016, this is the email I received regarding Linux support:
“The engine we’re using is custom-built. Unfortunately the Linux release is planned but the build is not ready yet.”
As we know, custom built game engines and Linux support do not mean a quick release. So it’s a given that we would have to wait. Then after the Ultimate Edition released last support and still no native support. I kind of gave up, until now.
Linux Support:
“We’re so happy to announce that N++ is out on Linux!”
N++ or Nplusplus is all about using your momentum to complete levels. While working to get those high scores. But in this sci-fi world, there’s a slew of inadvertently homicidal enemy robots. They are of course trying to prevent you from completing your goal.
Through the hand-crafted (NOT procedurally generated) levels, you’ll experience platforming at its most intense. Using only your fluid movement, you need to ‘solve’ each level and get to the exit.
