Observer: System Redux due to get native Linux support along with Windows PC plus we have a playable Demo. Thanks to developer Bloober Team. Which is now available to try on Steam.

As announced in the IGN event at Gamescom 2020. Bloober Team is bringing its rebuilt cyberpunk thriller, Observer: System Redux to PC as well as next-gen consoles. Likewise, PC version of Observer: System Redux will feature all of the upgraded visuals and additional content.

Bloober Team is also announcing existing new for >Observer_ owners. So if you own the game on Steam, you will have the option to upgrade to Observer: System Redux. Which will including an 80% discount until September 15th. Fans who pre-order will receive OST and artbook for free. Which is certainly a nice deal. And it also shows up on my Steam client now. Which hopefully works the same for GOG users.

AND… according a developer comment on Steam. Which states, “we plan to make OSR for Linux too.” Definitely some good news. Plus with that 80% discount right now. It’s a win-win for Linux gamers.

“When we announced Observer: System Redux for next-gen consoles. We had a huge response from our PC fans asking if the remaster would be coming to their platform of choice,” said Piotr Babieno, Bloober Team CEO. “We originally only planned to bring the game to consoles. But seeing the feedback we’ve heard from the community, we’re bringing the game to PC as well. As a way to thank our community, we’re putting this upgrade plan in place. And looking into options to do the same on console if possible.”

An Observer: System Redux demo can be sampled for free on Steam right now. Available during the Gamescom Steam demo event. You can also play on Linux using Proton. Since the game engine is Unreal Engine 4. While the playable Demo does issue a key video component missing message. It works just fine. But it’s only available in English. While Observer: System Redux is planned to release in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. Including Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean.
