Offside Legends fantasy soccer already has a Kickstarter Beta for Linux, Mac and Windows PC. Thanks to independent developer Team Serpico. Due to kick of the crowdfunding campaign soon. But you can check out the Beta now.
Offside Legends Kickstarter campaign is due to release on June 18th. While hoping to gain funding for the upcoming fantasy-themed soccer-party game.
But in fact it’s [Linux] already available from our Discord. And we’re going to prepare a Linux build with every major update until release.
Actually, this news came as a surprise. Most developers release a build of their game for Kickstarter. But Team Serpico already has a playable Offside Legends Kickstarter Beta on their discord for Linux. So if you want to jump in, talk to the dev’s and check out the game. This will certainly give you a good taste ahead of the crowdfunding campaign. The games also developed in Unity 3D. So depending on functionality, you can play the native build or the Windows PC build using Wine. And “already supporting a cross-play between all the platform including consoles.”
Offside Legends – Trailer
Offside Legends is a fast-paced soccer arcade game. Also when finished, will be available on Linux, Mac and Windows PC. But also releasing on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2021. The game will include teams based in characters such as King Arthur, Sherlock Holmes, and others.
“The main reference for Offside Legends is Mario Strikers Charged”, says Dmitry Minsky, co-founder and developer at Team Serpico. “Some mechanics have a remake. And some are an outright design from scratch. But we always keep in mind that the game should be fun, light-hearted and thrilling”.
The developer’s Kickstarter campaign will help them getting more funding to finish Offside Legends. And cover the costs related to the production and development of the game.
