PAST CURE is an intense story-driven game coming to Steam for Windows, not Linux. The games developer Phantom 8 Studio finally got back to us via email with the disappointing news.
Linux support:
“We are using UE4. Currently no port to Linux or Mac is foreseen.”
Update:
“We will be looking into it the coming weeks once we are good with the current versions.”
So part of my reaching out to Phantom 8 Studio is due to Unreal Engine 4. And since this is the studio’s debut game release.
Naturally we would hope for Linux support. Which is also denied via the Discussion on Steam. So this marks a potential disappointment for Linux. But maybe more of a wait and see.
Also with this news, Phantom 8 issues the release of an all-new teaser trailer. This shows off some of PAST CURE and how intense the story-driven gameplay is. Since it’s equal parts action thriller and psychological horror. Sort of like Hitman and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided meets Max Payne?

PAST CURE tells a riveting revenge story where dreams are indistinguishable from reality. Since nightmares are self-aware and conspiracy runs deep. Players take on the role of Ian, a former elite soldier. Who also lost years of his life to experimentation and torture.
So here, players dive into two seemingly merging worlds. Working to decipher the mystery behind Ian’s telekinetic powers. And also a degenerative mental state, before it’s too late.
PAST CURE is the premier game from Berlin-based indie developer Phantom 8 Studio. Development is handled by a team of eight first-time game developers.
