Royal Oak, MI – October 4, 2011 – PixoFactor Entertainment, a complete video gaming and entertainment content development company, is proud to announce its partnership with Tapjoy, a leading mobile application marketplace, in developing an exciting and innovative game on the Android and iOS platforms, called “Gaslight.”
Partial funding of the game “Gaslight,” which is a strategy combat game falling in the steampunk genre, was provided by San Francisco-based Tapjoy, who recently created the $5 million Tapjoy Android Fund, which provides monetary and development support to game developers looking to port existing content and apps to the Android platform.
“Receiving this investment is a big win for our company and all Michigan game and app developers,” said Hurwitz. “By leveraging Tapjoy’s resources and knowledge, this will allow us to create our own original IP (intellectual property) and accelerate our cross platform game development.”
Tapjoy will assist PixoFactor with design and development of Gaslight and other games. PixoFactor will integrate Tapjoy’s mobile advertising marketplace and other virtual currency services in order to maximize its user engagement levels and overall revenue. PixoFactor will also receive distribution for new user acquisition through Tapjoy’s performance-based ad network.
“PixoFactor is a great example of why we established our publishing fund” said Rob Carroll Director of Publishing for Tapjoy. “They are an experienced development studio that just needed a small amount of funding and marketing support to be able to start developing their own IP. We’re looking forward to partnering with them in their success.”
“It’s vital for a company like ours to stay out in front of the latest monetization strategies, and with the rapid growth of the Android platform, we felt this was a great partnership for our company’s objectives,” said Hurwitz. “Tapjoy is a clear leader in mobile app distribution, engagement and monetization, and being selected for their Tapjoy Android Fund is an exciting opportunity and a big step forward for PixoFactor and our future.”
PixoFactor is currently designing other games for the Tapjoy platform and will begin immediately incorporating Tapjoy technology into other projects, including:
Zorro “Shadow of Vengeance”
Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer
Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons of Golf iPad and mobile apps
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
