The World Health Organisation is using the globally popular game Plague Inc: The Cure. So they can help players stay safe, recognise false information and ensure vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A key part of this teamwork is a video where WHO and GOARN experts play Plague Inc: The Cure. Doing so with the game’s creators and compare it with public health management in real scenarios.
Time to save the world
The experts are put to the test as they try to save the world. Since they have to balance public health measures, research, and development. But also balance the social and economic factors. Working to keep the disease under control. All while keeping public trust.
The game holds a mirror to nations everywhere, stressing the importance of vaccine research. Creating and distributing to lighten outbreaks, as well as the need for working together globally to spur development.
