Plunder Panic PvP platformer game coming to the Deck with Linux support, Mac, and Windows PC. All thanks to recent details from developer Will Winn Games. Available via Steam Early Access with 91% Positive reviews.
Will Winn Games’ pirate-themed online multiplayer brawler Plunder Panic is out on Steam Early Access. So get ready to flip those eye-patches and head into battle with up to 12 players (locally or online). Doing so in a retro-styled arcade beat em up that pits pixelated pirates vs. pirates in quick. Including round-based PvP platformer matches. With enough weapons, items, modes, and “modify-arrs” to fill the biggest deep sea treasure chest. Plunder Panic is the perfect game to cement friendships and foster rivalries. But does not offer Linux support, in any manner. But it looks like it’s due to change.
We are definitely exploring Linux/SteamDeck support.
Back in September 2021, Will Winn Games were looking into Linux support. Now it seems the developer is very eager to get on the Steam Deck. So here’s hoping for native Linux support, especially being a Unity 3D game. But at least we have formal confirmation of some sort. On top of that, Proton is also an option, should you choose.
Plunder Panic – Steam Early Access
Taking inspiration from the games of old where players would crowd the couch. This is where Plunder Panic blends gorgeous pixel graphics with modern gameplay elements. Two teams of up to six players must go all hands on deck and face off against each other. All while using a range of weapons, enchanted items, and power-ups. Matches begin as rival teams anchor their ships on opposite sides of the same island. Of course, only one crew can claim victory. Doing so by plundering enough gold into their treasure chest. Maybe scuttling the other crew’s ship, or defeating the rival crew’s captain. Teamwork makes the dream work. So this means Plunder Panic crews must work together as a single unit to win the day. Then get their hands on that sweet, sweet booty or end up in Davy Jones’ locker.
Plunder Panic is charming retro pixel-art aesthetic with adorable lil’ pirates. Along with beautiful themed arenas. Currently available the PvP platformer is available on Steam Early Access. With definitive plans for Linux, Steam Deck, with Mac and Windows PC. All priced at $9.99 USD / £7.19 / 8,19€.
