Psychonauts 2 crowdfunding campaign exceeds 3 million dollars


Psychonauts 2 crowdfunding campaign has officially cleared $3 million. That roughly 91 percent of Double Fine’s Fig campaign #funding #goal, which ends on January 12, 2016.

At the time of wring, $3,031,756 from 18,188 #backers. And of that that $3 million raised so far, $1.436 million has come from traditional pledges, while $1.579 million comes in the form of investments. Fig is different than Kickstarter or Indiegogo, allows people to have a monetary stake in a game, meaning if the game does well, they also get to share in that success.

The Psychonauts 2 crowdfunding campaign raised the first $1 million in just 24 hours and the next $1 million coming a few days later.

That $3.3 million budget is far less than what actually require. As previous estimates outline the project needing around $10 million to make it all happen. The Fig does campaign explain how Double Fine is “putting up a significant portion of the development funds”, plus an unspecified “external partner” is also taking part.

Psychonauts 2 was officially announced back on December 3 during The Game Awards. Slated to arrive in three years, the fall of 2018 for Linux, Mac and Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
