So thanks to HexDSL for the indirect notice. We found out about Raft a survival crafting game on the Itch.io store. Since release, the game has already seen a couple of updates before the end of 2016.
So #gameplay is straight forward, you take the role of a character in middle of the #ocean. While starting off with a hook and a very small raft. The player needs to catch drifting debris floating by to build somthing bigger.
The Raft trailer for Linux, Mac, PC:
“Survive the harsh life of being stuck on a raft in the middle of the ocean! Gather debris from the water in order to craft equipment necessary for your survival. Expand your raft in order to create a more comfortable living for yourself, but be wary of the dangers of the ocean!
Currently in very early production. This is a prototype which purpose is to show the player what the game could be. If this is a game you would like to see being finished, please tell us so in this form!“
Hence there is work to be done to develop the game further. But the gameplay is well worth exploring and we hope to see Raft make a Steam debut. There is a great deal of potential, seeing we have not seen a game like it. But even in the current state, a tutorial would be fantastic.
Although, I’m a bit curious why a shark would attack my wooden structure? Dietary Fiber?
There has to be something we can craft to keep the beast away.
