Riftbound survival strategy game’s Linux port is possible with Windows PC. According to details and the ongoing effort of developer Barrel Smash Studios. Working to make it’s way onto Steam soon.
Riftbound the fantasy lane defense game is developed by Barrel Smash Studios. Due to wage an epic war of good versus evil on Windows PC beginning Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Initial release is for PC, but I will be sure to look into the whether Linux is possible. I believe it is, but we need to see how we will handle ongoing support for Linux which I imagine is going to be a bit more complicated (in terms of diagnosing issues with so many different configurations).
So I’d say there is some hope there, but if it happens it will be after the PC launch.
Since Riftbound is developed using Unity 3D. So this could also mean that Proton could be an option. But the odds of a post launch Linux build are far more possible. But that also depends on the success of Barrel Smash Studios testing a native build. Which could end up being a Beta branch test.
