RimWorld is a sci-fi colony simulator driven by an intelligent AI storyteller. The narrator is what brings the game together and keeps things interesting. Everyone has their own story to tell or they can form a clan of flesh-hungry cannibals—which is why Jecrell’s H.P. Lovecraft Storyteller mod creates some further flavour in the game.
“In Lovecraft’s tales, protagonists often face their own mortality and insignificance in the universe. Threats to your colony and its sanity will be constant. Can your colony survive a cosmic horror tale?”
Everyone’s RimWorld experience is different, which might make a few curious and essentially wondering why you should try it. Anyone familiar with RimWorld will appreciate that no matter how skilled you are, or how prepared, failure is lurking around the corner.
If you want to take the Lovecraft-like levels further, Jecrell’s Steam Workshop page boasts a few other mods. While including things like the Call of Cthulhu Cosmic Horrors Monster Pack which adds Lovecraftian monsters to the game. “This is an attempt to create the minor races of H.P. Lovecraft’s weird fiction mythos in the RimWorld engine. They behave the same as hostile factions that raid colonies such as mechanoids or insectoids. They are deadlier, however.” So good luck.
So players can subscribe to Jecrell’s mods via the Steam Workshop page.
