Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! rocking indie adventure game still is due to get a Linux port with Windows PC. Thanks to the work and further details from developer Valtteri Tavast. Currently available on Steam.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die!, a rocking indie adventure inspired by classic point and click games. Also including heavy metal, and underground comix is out on Steam for Windows PC. However, the itch page has a Linux demo available. This is a good sign, but according to the developer email, we will have to wait for a port.
Originally, the plan was to release the full version of the game for Linux at the same time with the Windows version. But there were some problems with Steam compatibility. I’m still looking into that, but hopefully, there will be a Linux port eventually that will work on Steam as well.
While we can at least play the Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! Demo, the Steam release may be temporarily playable via Proton. So far that’s untested. But there is indeed a Linux build coming. And despite the limited reviews, they are all Positive. Before you do, have a look at the trailer.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! release Trailer
It’s time to jump into the beer-soaked denim vest of a middle-aged teddy bear to put together a comeback. Resurrecting his old glam metal band. One tiny problem in this quest is the fact that glam metal has been the laughing stock of everyone in the music industry since the 1980s. But a true heavy metal heart never stops beating!
The game deals with rock clichés and music industry shenanigans through comedy and satire. The player gets to experience all the fun that the life of a middle-aged musician has to offer. Like organizing schedules with bandmates who have families and careers. Then rehearsing in moldy basements and playing Tuesday night support gigs in empty bars for no money. All the things that are collectively known as “The Rock ‘n’ Roll Dream”!
After over three years in development, Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! offers about ten hours of wild adventures all over the rockosphere with cool hand-drawn graphics. The project director is Valtteri Tavast, a Finnish cartoonist and musician, and many of the game’s adventures are based on real-life experiences as a bass player in a punk band no one’s heard of.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! rocking indie adventure game is out on Steam. Priced at $17.99 USD / £13.99 / £13.99. Along with support for Windows PC, but Linux is in the game plan.
