Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Set to Release for Android this December

The #game #development team that created the Grand Theft Auto franchise is wishing you a happy holiday season, and part of what will make it happy for you this year is that GTA: San Andreas will find its way onto Android  sometime next month.

The GTA franchise has done very well on iOS. GTA III and Vice City are hugely popular on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Releasing San Andreas will only further the franchise’s reach on Android devices as well.

San Andreas is arguably the most popular title in the GTA lineup. It launched on the Playstation 2 in 2004 and has since gone on to be ported to all major console devices. In December, Rock Star Games will release the title for Android and iOS devices. It has already sold more than 30 million copies. The mobile version is sure to rekindle a love affair with old players, as well as spark new interest with the next generation of gamers.

According to the Rock Star Game’s blog, GTA: San Andreas will feature “brand new touch controls, including contextual control options to display buttons only when you need them and three different control schemes for driving and maneuvering.”

There is no official information at this time as to release date and price. However, both GTA III and Vice City are $4.99 on the Play Store, so it is safe to assume that San Andreas will be comparable in price.
